Cockroaches
You’ve heard about the pest that would be the only thing capable of living after a nuclear explosion: the cockroach.
In fact, there are four hundred different species of cockroaches; out of which ten are native to Sydney. It has also been noted that most of these species can live without food for up to one month. Their population tends to reproduce heavily at an incredible and fast rate. Cockroaches are usually attracted to food available in your house. They will eat anything from foods, paper, packaging, plastics and fabrics to animal matter (eg. animal droppings). They can climb and enter every nook and cranny available. Cockroaches also can carry disease-causing bacteria, such as salmonella, dysentery and gastroenteritis, to name a few. With so many negatives associated with cockroaches, why take the risk? North Sydney Pest Management know these risks and know how to eliminate these risks. With environmentally friendly insecticides, industry leading strategies and a highly experienced team, we can get rid of any cockroach problem.
Ants
Ants are ubiquitous and Australia has over 1,300 known species of ants so far. Ants tend to be a major problem in homes due to their size, they can literally enter your house by crawling through any crack, and once they locate a food source they leave a chemical trail for other ants to follow. Meaning, just one ant in your home means that many, many more will be soon to follow. Furthermore, due to their adaptability they can practically nest anywhere in your house or garden. Most DIY ant control chemicals are not formulated to deal with all ant species, only the most common. You can be guaranteed that our experts will be able to identify which species is nesting in your home and use the right products to get rid of them, all of which are environmentally friendly to humans and your home.
Spiders
Spiders. One of the most deadly pests in the world, and Australia is home to a few thousand of them, including some of the most deadly species, like; Redbacks, Funnel webs, Wolf spiders, the Black House Spider and the White-Tailed Spider. A bite from any one of these could lead to very serious illness, or worse. They are a particular nuisance in the home as most species are drawn to warm, dark small spaces such as corners or air vents. However, other species prefer the outdoors and weave their webs in your garden or outdoor lighting. Unsure of what spider is in your home? Our expert will identify and eliminate the spiders inside your home with environmentally friendly products that will also provide ongoing protection for your home and garden.
Silverfish
There are around 370 species of Silverfish, 28 of which are present in Australia. Silverfish are nocturnal and very fast. One of their most annoying traits is their destructive feeding habits, oftentimes ruining papers, clothing and wallpaper. They commonly infest dark__areas around paper and linen sources and even under thermal insulation within roof cavities. Silverfish infestations can be found in bedrooms, laundry rooms, bathrooms, attics and basements. They also reproduce very fast, some species lay a few eggs a day while other species can lay up to 20 eggs a day. Most DIY methods are proven to give immediate relief for a short period of time, but prove to be ineffective over time. A Silverfish infestation requires a professional treatment, North Sydney Pest Management provides individually tailored solutions to your problems using effective and safe insecticides. We use surface treatments, dry dust formulas or aerosols, depending on your particular problem.
Fleas
Fleas are tiny and irritating pests that can become a major problem in your home. These parasites can cause stress, a variety of skin problems and increase the risk of disease transmission to our pets and our families. If you have pets, or live in an area where there is an animal population, then there is a large probability that you will eventually be effected by a flea infestation. Fleas are an annoying insect that feed on the blood from animals and humans. There are almost 7 dozen species in Australia, including cat fleas, dog fleas and rat fleas which all, despite their names, can live on a range of hosts, including people. The female can lay over 25 eggs in a day and over 800 in a lifetime. The adult flea can survive for over four months without a single blood feed. If you have a flea problem call North Sydney Pest Management for advice and a treatment plan.
Rats
Your house is ideal for rats because they provide food, water, warmth and shelter. Rats are scarily prolific breeders, producing a litter of young almost monthly. This means that just a small rat problem can become a big problem very quickly. If you do see a rat, even just one, it is a sign that an infestation already exists. Rats are also very dirty pests, producing a steady stream of urine to mark their trails, usually all over your floor and benches. Additionally, they produce between 50 and 70 droppings per day! Their droppings are often infectious and can include dangerous bacteria that can lead to various diseases. They do not only just harm your and you family’s health, but they are known to cause damage your house, including chewing through electrical wiring, leading to more health hazards. After a short inspection, our team will use different strategies to eliminate your rat problem, including bait, traps or tracking powders, all of which are environmentally safe.
